Oct. 24, 2010 (Saturday) - In the midst of my college semestral break, I and my family (a group of 3) headed to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, "A City in A Forest". This article covers our Day 1 itinerary - Flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa, Puerto Princesa Accommodation, Puerto Princesa Tours, Dinner in Puerto Princesa, Iwahig Firefly Watching - plus some notes and tips.

Terminal Fee: P200/person | Check in 2 hours before Estimated Time of Departure (ETD)
3:45pm | ETD for Puerto Princesa International Airport | Travel time from Manila to Puerto Princesa via plane is 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes
5:00pm | ETA in Puerto Princesa International Airport | There are tricycles in the Airport that can take you to your chosen accommodations. Tricycle Fee: P7 for 1 Km + P1 per additional Km/ person But if you already have a hotel/inn reservation and they do airport pick-ups, then no need for the tricycle.
5:30pm | Check-in at De Loro Inn | Accommodation: P1,750/person for 3 nights (Inclusive of continental breakfast) | Tip: Make a reservation at your chosen accommodation especially during peak season (Summer [March-May], Semestral Break [October-November], Christmas season [December-January]) De Loro Inn Website: De Loro Inn Review: *To Follow* Accommodations and their corresponding websites: Accommodation Reviews: |
Book for Tours | Book your tours at the front desk of your accommodations. All tours in Puerto Princesa have fixed price (there’s no need to canvass). For tours, rates, and other details, you can check this website: Tours VS D-I-Y (Do-it-yourself) *To Follow*
6:30pm | Dinner | Kinabuch Bar and Grill - Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City. Telephone: 6348.4345194 Review: *To Follow*
7:30pm | ETD for Firefly Tour | D-I-Y: Tricycle to-from Iwahig River: P700 [Can accommodate up to 5 persons] Boat: P600 [Can accommodate up to 3 persons] OR Tour: P800/person (inclusive of dinner) | Tip: For the tricycle, approach any tricycle and ask if he can do an Iwahig Firefly Watching Tour, ask how much before proceeding with the tour. Tip: An Iwahig Firefly Tour costs P800/person inclusive of dinner, if you're alone or a group of 2, better take the tour, otherwise, it's cheaper if you Do-It-Yourself. Travel time from Puerto Princesa to Iwahig River is around 45 minutes *We weren’t able to accomplish this because we headed to our desired accommodation, Puerto Pension, without any reservation. When we got there, they are fully booked so we had to look for other accommodations. This itinerary got messed up because to this. Reviews: |
